Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs: Enrollment

How many classes a month does the membership include?

Most months there will be 3 classes/month with a couple of bonus classes sprinkled in for a total of 35 classes scheduled for the year. LaLa Lessons is closed during the month of June.

How will I be billed for the monthly membership?

When you enroll in the Monthly Membership Plan (recommended), you'll pay the enrollment fee at time of registration then pay a monthly tuition fee at the start of each month for upcoming classes. Your credit card will be securely stored in your account and charged at the beginning of each month. It is your responsibility to keep the credit card information up to date (you can make changes either by logging in to your account or giving us a call to make the change for you). There will be a $20 fee added to accounts for declined credit cards.

Do You Offer Drop-In Classes if I want to Try A Class first?

Yes! Just fill out the Drop-in Form. This is a great opportunity to experience the Music Together® curriculum and help you feel confident about enrolling in membership. The only way to get the full benefits of the Music Together® education program is by regular and consistent participation.

How do make-up classes work?

All families are eligible for unlimited make-up classes during their membership enrollment! In order to receive a make-up class credit, you’ll need to “cancel” the class you’ll be absent for in the family portal or provide written notice. Advance notice is greatly appreciated. Members receive a class credit with notice that can be used to schedule a make-up class in any Music Together® Mixed-Age class. Make-up classes can only be redeemed during active enrollment (invalid during pause/after cancellation). There are also a few bonus classes built into the schedule that do not require a make-up credit.

Can I join for just 1 month?

All of us, but especially children, learn through repetition. Because of this, there’s a 2 month minimum for our family membership. You can give a 30 days notice to cancel your account after 30 days.

When does the next semester start?

You can start at any time! To keep classes fresh and fun and your child’s repertoire growing, we start a new Music Together® song collection every season. You can jump in at any time! Simply select your start date when you register

How do I pause or cancel my membership?

To pause your membership, simply email us 30 days in advance. Memberships cannot be canceled until after the first 30 days of enrollment. You can pause your membership for up to 3 months.

Will you hold my spot if I pause my membership?

Unfortunately, we cannot hold your spot in a class. The only way to keep your spot in class would be to continue paying your monthly tuition. We will do our best to find a good fit when you're ready to return!

What is the refund policy?

Monthly tuition is refundable prior to your first class, but the initial Family Membership Fee is non-refundable. Drop-In class registrations are also non-refundable. After the first class, no refunds are given.

May I Bring an un-registered Sibling or Friend?

If you have an older child who is off school and you wish to bring him/her along to class, please contact us to confirm availability. Siblings between 8 mos. - 5 yrs who are coming regularly need to be registered. Baby, toddler, and preschool friends ages 0-5 can fill out this Drop-In form to join us!

FAQs: Class Experience

Will there be instruments in class?

Of course! Since the objective of classes is for children to learn to sing in tune and keep a steady beat, the most important instrument we focus on is our primary instrument: the body! While we start with learning to maintain a beat internally, your child will have plenty of opportunity to learn to express beat externally through things like drums, bells, shakers, scarves, rhythm sticks, and more!

Will my child learn to play an instrument in class?

While your child will not be focused on learning a specific instrument, they will be developing the essential tools to play an instrument like keeping a steady beat, audiating notes, and even social elements like following directions and playing in tandem with others. We like to say you have to learn to play WITH music to develop the ability to play music! It starts with a love of music.

Are snacks and drinks allowed?

Please avoid bringing snacks into classrooms. These can be distracting, messy, cause food envy, and pose a risk to those with food allergies. Bottles, cups, and breastfeeding in class are all fine.

May my toddler bring toys?

While you or your toddler might feel like you need a toy, there will be plenty to experience in class, including instruments to play with. Please leave other toys at home.

May more than one adult come to class?

All parents, grandparents, or caregivers are welcome to attend class at any time. This is more than just a Mommy & Me Class - any close family member or friend is welcome to accompany your child.
